What does that mean for BeaTunes?

Many of the APIs are actually staying stable, it seems. It's just the the
iTunes Library.xml
file seems to be gone.

I'm working on a solution and am fairly confident it won't be a major problem.

hendriktag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/473975382019-06-30T16:45:14Z2019-06-30T16:45:15ZiTunes is EOL. What does that mean for BeaTunes?

My god that makes me happy!

Thank you, Hendrik!

Patchtag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/473975382019-07-04T15:13:07Z2019-07-04T15:13:07ZiTunes is EOL. What does that mean for BeaTunes?

Some things may not work as well as before, because currently the ITLibrary framework that needs to be used for this, has not been maintained well by Apple. E.g. they didn't add disliked/loved or work/movement to the API, even though they added the fields in iTunes. I have filed a feedback report with Apple, but in my (limited) experience that does not cause Apple to do anything.

There are ways around these shortcomings (e.g. AppleScript), but they aren't very fast. We'll see. Perhaps Apple also sees the need for an updated API and surprises us!

hendriktag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/473975382019-07-04T16:15:10Z2019-07-04T16:15:11ZiTunes is EOL. What does that mean for BeaTunes?

Yeah - I won’t hold my breath on that. :-)

TBH - between iTunes and the BeaTunes beatlet that you’ve been helping me with, I’m so close to the perfect set-up (for me) that I wouldn’t move away from the current version of iTunes complimented by BeaTunes.

If I can get the Ticked/Un-ticked and Loved/Disliked/Default info out of iTunes/BeaTunes and INTO the Traktor Collection.xml, I would NEVER move away from iTunes w/BeaTunes...

Patchtag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/473975382019-07-24T13:47:39Z2019-07-24T13:47:39ZiTunes is EOL.
