padlock
Hi, Does the padlock symbol on beatunes mean the song is purchased from itunes and cannot be played. I have bought literally hundreds of songs from itunes over the years.

It means that the songs is locked by Apple's Digital Rights Management (DRM) system FairPlay. Obviously there is nothing fair about FairPlay. Because of it, beaTunes can't access the raw audio data in the files.
Of course you can still play the files in iTunes or perhaps QuickTime.
Apple has stopped selling DRM protected files a while ago.
