I just want to scan some mislabelled MP3s and update all my tags and filename. Can the software do this or not? It scanned my folder and changed nothing of importance. All basic tags are empty. I really don't care what "mood" each song is.

Paxmantag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/468604092019-01-23T10:50:52Z2019-01-23T10:50:52ZUse audio fingerprint to search for Artist and Song Title tags

beaTunes does not care about filenames, only tags. To rename files it's the wrong tool.

beaTunes only does what you ask it to do. What did you ask it to do?

To replace metadata tags, which is apparently what you want, select the songs in question, click on Analyze (e.g. in the
File
menu) and among the offered tasks, select Import metadata. Uncheck all other tasks.

Be very careful when replacing existing metadata.

Replacing album names usually does not lead to the desired results, especially if the track was released on multiple albums. There is no way to distinguish between acoustically identical releases.

Mass changes done via beaTunes analysis cannot be undone. Always have a backup.

If you are just looking to correct the metadata for couple of tracks, using the Get Info panel and its Info tab might be a better choice.

hendrik
