<p>beaTunes uses <a href=
"http://java.sun.com/products/jfc/tsc/articles/persistence/">http://java.sun.com/products/jfc/tsc/articles/persistence/</a>
for export/import. So MajorKey6 may map to whatever was serialized
before with that specific id. In other words, the id is not the
same each time you export something, but refers to a key that was
serialized earlier in the same file.</p>
<p>Hope this helps,</p>

<p>Thanks for the reply. I'm not a java expert, so I guess my
question is;<br>
Is there a method (export, web service, etc) to access the current
value<br>
of a metadata item?</p>
<p>Thanks,</p>

<p>Export or a plugin are your only options. How do you want to
continue<br>
to process the data? I.e. what is your final goal?</p>

<p>Just experimenting with some of beaTunes metadata. I should be
able to<br>
get the data I want from your previous emails. I'll let you know
how it<br>
goes.</p>
