When analyzing, make sure to set an appropriate bpm range, use
the
rayshoot algorithm and make sure to turn online resources off.

Hope this helps,

comes out 196.1 -- I mean this is a ballad for tai chi and is not

I like the other parts of your program but what is possibly wrong
that it
gets the beats so wrong ??
201 to
196,4 or therabouts which makes no sense at all for tai chi
meditation music
that comes in at about 60-70 in the real workd - what am I doing
wrong .

Which algorithm are you using? (should be Rayshoot)
And what do you set the BPM range to? (if you know it's 60-70, set
it to 50-100 or so, for most music 70-140 makes sense - often it's
better than the "automatic" option)
What is the "online resources" for BPM set to? (set this to
OFF)
What is the "replace" option set to? (set this to ON, if you
actually want to overwrite values)

Hope this helps,

now im totally lost ---- I changed it to estimate as you suggested
and got something totally reasonable= pray tell why in gods name do
I have to
provide an estimate for a [program that is supposed to figure this
out and
why the accuracy is dependent on my "guess"?
Thanks

just like other software (and even humans), beaTunes sometimes
confuses 60 with 120 or 70 with 140... you get the idea. So giving
it a range actually improves the result.
BTW, for beatmixing this often does not matter at all, since a 60
bpm song 'matches' a 120 bpm song.
