Hello Hendrik,

After a clean reinstall of beaTunes 5.2.35 on macOS Ventura 13.7.8, two core modules of the application do not load at all:

1. The Analysis preferences pane is incomplete.

The entire upper section is missing, including options such as:

“Analyze new songs automatically”

“Create analysis tasks automatically”

“Add new songs to the analysis queue”

Only the “exclude types / exclude genres” section appears.

2. The Inspection preferences pane is also incomplete.

Missing options such as:

“Create inspection tasks automatically for library songs”

“Automatically inspect new songs”

Only the list of available inspection types appears.

3. As a result:

No song is added to Analysis

The Inspection tab always displays an empty list

No export button appears in the Inspection view

No logs are generated (“Download logs” produces an empty archive)

No analysis queue is created at all

beaTunes behaves as if the analysis/inspection engine is not initialized

4. What I already tried:

Full deletion of all beaTunes preference files (com.tagtraum.beatunes5.plist, etc.)

Full deletion of the Application Support/beaTunes folder

Complete uninstall + redownload from your website

Reboot of macOS

Full resynchronization with Music.app

The issue persists after a clean reinstall and a fresh first-run configuration.

It seems the analysis and inspection Java modules do not load or are not registered.

Could you please advise, or provide a build with additional logging enabled so I can help diagnose the issue?

Thanks a lot!
Régis

    Hi Hendrik,

    Thanks for your reply.

Here is the screenshot you asked for.
    As you can see:

       -

The lower panel is fully visible (not collapsed).
       -

       Column headers ("Pochette / Nom / Artiste / Album / BPM / Tonalité / …")
       appear correctly.
       -

But *no tracks are listed at all* in the inspection results.
       -

Clicking “Inspecter” does not create any tasks.

    This happens even after:

       -

       deleting com.tagtraum.beatunes5.plist
       -

       rebooting macOS
       -

       reinstalling beaTunes 5.2.35 from scratch
       -

       re-authorizing the Music.app library

    Additionally:

       -

*Help → Download Logs… produces an empty archive*
       -

No Logs folder exists under ~/Library/Application Support/beaTunes/
       -

No analysis tasks appear in the “Analyse” tab either (queue stays at 0
       songs)

It looks like beaTunes is simply *never creating any inspection/analysis
tasks* and also *not writing log files*.

Does this help you diagnose where the issue could come from?

    Thanks,
    Régis

    Hey Régis,

This is odd. Have you tried clicking on the global inspection button (toolbar, second button from the left)? The one that runs all inspections?

No Logs folder exists under ~/Library/Application Support/beaTunes/

The log files are under ~/Library/Logs/beaTunes/

Please see this article for advice on how to create a valid log archive when all conventional means fail.

    Thank you,

    -hendrik
