from what it sounds like the initial library synchronization has
already happened and beaTunes is analyzing your songs for whatever
you configured.

The task queue (23987) means that there are still more than
23000 songs in the analysis queue - which is odd, because you have
only 12000. Is it possible that you added your library twice to the
queue?

In any case, with 4 cores and probably a nice chunk of RAM, this
should probably go faster and the fact that the gc file is growing
so much is not a good sign either.

Could you please shut down beaTunes and then zip the gc file as
well as the log files (in

c:\Users\username\\AppData\Local\tagtraum
industries\beaTunes\logs
) and send them my way? There is
probably something we can do to improve the situation.

However, it is a fact that audio analysis takes some time and
that it uses a lot of CPU. So while we can't eliminate the process,
but probably speed it up some.

Thanks,

-hendrik

PS: Assuming things are working as expected (and I don't think
they are), click on the "analysis task" in the left panel and than
take a look at the bottom status bar. There should be something
like an ETA, which will give you an idea how long things will take
at the current speed.

hendriktag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/8557232010-01-14T20:53:13Z2010-01-14T20:53:14ZDuration of Initial Library Synchronization?

Hendrik,

Thank you for the prompt reply. I realized I had both beaTunes
2.0.8 and 2.1.1 so I decided to shutdown beaTunes then completely
uninstall every remnant of both versions, including searching thru
the registry with regedit.

I rebooted, downloaded beaTunes 2.1.2, installed and
launched.

This is where it gets strange, at one point months ago I
believe, I might have had about 24,000 songs in iTunes, but have
been deleting every song not rated 4 stars or 5 stars, hence why my
library is now down to 11,600 or so songs.

When I launched beaTunes I got the following errors:
Error: Schema versions don't match. Required: 16 Found: 13

Fatal Error: Schema Evolution Failed:
org.h2.jdbc.JdbcSQLException: Duplicate Column name KEYALGORITHM
(42121-79)

Any help you can offer most apprecited, it feels to me like
somehow beaTunes is trying to use some old iTunes library
information despite all my efforts to start fresh.

The beaTunes log file is created, but is a 0k file.

P.S. My iTunes library is like a work of art at this point,
super high quality album art, 90% of the songs have lyrics
embedded, all ID3v 2.4 tags are meticulously populated, so beaTunes
will be a great tool for enhancing this iTunes library.

Regards,

if you have no valueable data in your beaTunes library, simply
shut down beaTunes, delete

c:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\tagtraum
industries\beaTunes\database
and then restart beaTunes. It
will rebuild it's internal database and things will be fine.

Note that if you do that you will loose all color, key
information as well as the fractions of your BPM. Please let me
know, if you actually have any of them and we might be able to save
that info somehow.

Hope this helps,

-hendrik

PS: That log file you are referring to, is not the actual log
file. The real logs for beaTunes 2.1 are in

c:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\tagtraum
industries\beaTunes\logs
.

hendriktag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/8557232010-02-04T19:21:06Z2010-02-04T19:21:24ZDuration of Initial Library Synchronization?

Hendrik,

Thank you, your solution worked perfectly, beaTunes is working
great now, most appreciated!

tzylstratag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/8557232010-02-04T22:51:37Z2010-02-04T22:51:37ZDuration of Initial Library Synchronization?

Awesome! Thanks for letting me know!
