Committing solutions for over 24 hours?
Hi,
First time user of beaTunes, with a reasonable sized iTunes library (125,000+ songs). I ran inspection and it found lots of issues, being the first time it was run. When I was up to 18,000+ solutions pending I decided to commit before I fixed any more. So, I hot commit. Over 24 hours ago. It isn't even halfway through the solutions yet. I have a iMac Pro with 128GB RAM, and the iTunes media is on a Synology NAS, via a 1GB connection. Should this be taking so long please?
Thanks

Hey Steve!
That’s quite the sizable library!
Frankly, I have no idea how long 18,000 changes usually take!
But, if you are using an iTunes-based library, all changes are communicated to iTunes via AppleScript and then iTunes is the program that actually applies the changes to your files. In your case, each change involves a network drive operation and that is most likely the bottleneck.
Storing music on a NAS is a great idea, when you only listen to music, but never manipulate the files.
Cheers,
