Keep getting a couple of error messages.Database migration failed Java.IOException: H2 Migration failed & An error occurred. Please restart beaTunes. org.hibernate.exception.GenericJDBCException: Unable to acquire JBDC Connection. I'm a beginner when it comes to troubleshooting things on the iMac. I'm running macOS Mojave Version 10.14.4, and iTunes version 12.9.4.94 I tried troubleshooting from beaTunes, found how to get to my library, but couldn't find ~/Library/Application Support/beaTunes/Database. I also upgraded from beaTunes 2 to BeaTunes 5 and that's when I had problems starting BeaTunes 5.
Please help me get started and show me what to do to get going.
Thanks dlfns00@aol.com

dlfns00tag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/472362392019-05-05T13:26:33Z2019-05-05T13:26:33ZbeaTunes 5 not loading

I assume the database upgrade from 2 to 5 failed. The best way to recover is to manually delete the database. You can do that by deleting the folder
~/Library/Application Support/beaTunes/Database
Note that this also means that you will delete all data that's not in the database (see https://blog.beatunes.com/2013/10/so-where-exactly-does-beatunes-st... for details).

Now, as you have found out,
~/Library/Application Support/beaTunes/Database
is tricky to find, when you're relatively new to the Mac.

Here's what's important:

~
the squiggly line means "home" directory. So this is not the base directory of your hard drive, but rather a shortcut for something like
/Users/USERNAME/
(whatever
USERNAME
that may be in your case)

Newer versions of macOS effectively hide the folder
~/Library/
from you. Finder simply does not display it, even though it's there. God knows why Apple decided to do this.

To navigate to any folder in Finder, use the menu item
Go
->
Go to Folder...
(in the Finder App). This will open a little dialog, which lets you enter a path. Enter
~/Library/Application Support/beaTunes/
. Now you can see the
Database
folder. Simply delete that folder (while beaTunes is not running). Then start beaTunes.

The way you explained hoe to resolve the problem took a little time but I have beaTunes up and running. I’ll get in contact with Apple and have them make my library show in finder instead of holding down the option button to show it. Was told to go to terminal but that’s out of my league
I have a lot to learn upgrading from beaTunes 2 to beaTunes 5. I’ll have to keep your contact info for questions I may have in the future. You personally explain how to correct this problem better than FAQ
Thanks again dlfns00@aol.com

dlfns00tag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/472362392019-05-06T07:04:07Z2019-05-06T07:04:07ZbeaTunes 5 not loading

I'd be very surprised, if they reacted to a complaint. But do tell them!
