I have attached the latest one made today at 12:16 PM. I could try
compressing one if you want.
When does beaTunes show this error?
Are you doing anything that triggers it?

It seems like you are storing your music on an external drive. Is that just an external hard drive that's connected via some cable or is this a network drive.

Any chance this drive is somehow not connected? Or you are using symbolic links?

hendriktag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/444914532018-01-11T20:54:43Z2018-01-11T20:54:43Zjava

Perhaps making sure your drive is connected and then restarting beaTunes does the trick...

hendriktag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/444914532018-01-11T22:14:36Z2018-01-11T22:14:36Zjava

Hendrik the error occurs shortly after I launch the program. Here is the
error again.

"an error occurred: java.nio.file.nusuchfileexception:/volumes/audio/ituens/music .
synchronization failed."

The external drive is mounted and the iTunes folder has around 220,000
tracks in it. Swinsian sees the drive and assesses the tracks just fine.

I had lunch and came back and my Mac had restarted automatically saying
there was a kernel panic. Everything looked OK and I launched beaTunes.
Shortly thereafter the error occurred. I say OK, it goes away but
shortly returns. This just repeats. No other programs were running and
the audio drive was mounted.

Perhaps I need to upgrade the system to High Sierra.

Hank

Hank McGuiretag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/444914532018-01-11T22:17:48Z2018-01-11T22:17:48Zjava

Ah! The
synchronization failed
is the clue I was asking about.

You can probably get rid of the message by turning Synchronize on window activation off. The checkbox is in beaTunes' general preferences.

Once you have done that... can you play any songs with beaTunes? Because for some reason there seems to be an issue with finding your files.

hendriktag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/444914532018-01-11T22:18:38Z2018-01-11T22:18:38Zjava

I doubt very much this has anything to do with High Sierra.

Oh — and I meant to ask: Is this a network drive or a regular USB-drive?

hendriktag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/444914532018-01-11T22:27:51Z2018-01-11T22:27:52Zjava

It is a regular USB drive. I turned off synchronization and so far no
problem. Hank

Hank McGuiretag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/444914532018-01-12T00:04:23Z2018-01-12T00:04:24Zjava

We are not out of the woods yet. I opened beaTunes. It lists the music
but can't find the file to play it. The path looks OK in preferences.

Failed to open item.
/Vlolumes/Audio/iTunes/Music/'N Sync/nsync/18 I Want you back [back beat rad.mp3 (FileNotFound)

Music is listed but it will not play in beaTunes. It will play from the
Finder or Swinsian.

If I tell beaTunes to analyze it can't find the actual file saying
Java.io.filenotfound exception: /and then the path of each track is
attached./

Hank

PS I think I solved this problem. I added the path again in Preferences.
I looks the same but something is different and the program is working.
I wonder if this was the problem to begin with.

Well... this is good, I guess. But also strange.

Because we turned off automatic synchronization, you will need to run
File
->
Synchronize
every now and then or simply turn the auto sync on again.

hendrik
