Am I right in thinking that the message in the Subject line is a warning that the song being analysed is not in the MusicBrainz database? It seems to only show up for less "commercial" works. And, is there a way of submitting data to MusicBrainz so the song is added?

It's not really a warning. But it means that operations that depend on a MusicBrainz id cannot succeed.

Absolutely! Please see https://musicbrainz.org/doc/How_to_Contribute for details.
