It didn't appear to be in the middle of anything. Earlier, I
noticed that<br>
the BeaTunes icon in my Doc had a number that it was counting down
from as<br>
it was analyzing my music. But when I went to play music it was not
doing<br>
that. So, I think it had finished that already.</p>
<p>As it currently stands, I am having a more serious issue with
the program.<br>
It stops responding again and again. Overtime I open i, the program
lags a<br>
bit and then just stops responding. Sometimes after only a minute,
other<br>
times after five or ten minutes of it being open and me looking
around.<br>
Since I just got the program, I've been trying to poke around and
look<br>
under the hood a bit to see how I might use it best. But it
continues to be<br>
unresponsive after a short time and I'm forced to Force Quit the
program<br>
and open it again. Which brings me to the next question/issue,
should it<br>
take more than a full minute to launch the program? When I open it
form my<br>
Doc, it shows the icon with 4.6 and that hovers in the middle of
the screen<br>
for at least 1 minute, maybe 2... and then opens the program. Is
that to be<br>
expected, running normally?</p>

seems like it will be awesome if I get to work smoothly and get the
hang of<br>

<em>specs</em> of your computer (RAM, CPU cores, purchase date,
hard drive)?</p>
<p>Also, how <em>many</em> songs are in your music library?</p>
<p>And last, but not least — sometimes a problem in the
internal database leads to problems. Then <code>Tools</code> ->
<code>Repair Database</code> usually helps.</p>

Under About<br>
This MAC it says "Late 2012"<br>
Processor: 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5<br>
Memory: 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3<br>
My Mac contains 2 memory slots, each of which accepts<br>
a 1600 MHz DDR3 memory module.<br>
All memory slots are currently in use.</p>
<p>I have about 14,000 tracks in my library.</p>
<p>Another issue coming us is that after I've run Inspection and am
scrolling<br>
through the issues, if I start to play a song, such as when looking
at the<br>
issue of Multiple songs with the same ID... The song will play but
the<br>
program totally freezes up and I have to Force Quit which means I
loose any<br>
changes I was hoping to make. Not to mention I have to Inspect ALL
over<br>
again and go through this time and time again. Not sure if I am
doing<br>
something wrong?</p>

I just tried to Repair the Database and got a message saying that
it failed.<br>
org.h2.jdbc.jdbcSQULException:<br>
Unique index or primary key violation "Primary_key_4 on
PUBLIC.SONGS(ID)</p>
<p>and then a bunch of other numbers and stuff I don't think it's
necessary to<br>
type out in full. Then it asked if I wanted to rebuild the database
from my<br>
audio files. I clicked YES and restarted BeaTunes to begin the
process.<br>
When I opened BeaTunes again it showed a status bar of it
Synchronizing<br>
with my library. When that completed, it just sat there and I
stared to<br>
play a track, midway through the song I started playing another
song and it<br>
froze.</p>
<p>I just sent in my Log Report.<br>

<p>It sounds like the database was indeed broken. As stated before,
this can happen when you force quit beaTunes.</p>

<p>In the beaTunes general preferences, please turn <em>off</em>
the option <em>Automatically exports playlists</em>. This should
make a huge difference.</p>

issues can be explained simply by a corrupted database. When it's
in a bad shape, often things take very long or don't happen at
all.</p>

<p>No. It should be a bit faster.</p>

<p>Please simply try synchronizing again — sometimes iTunes
is slow in exporting its XML file, which in turn is read by
beaTunes.</p>

really don't seem to be going well in your case and I wonder what
the reason is. Hopefully I can find a clue.</p>

<p>thanks for the logs. In the general preferences you can find a
setting called "Synchronize on window activation". I think you have
that turned on. Can you please turn it <em>off</em>? This will
reduce the database load significantly. Obviously you still want to
synchronize every now and then to import changes from iTunes. You
can do so via the <code>File</code> -> <code>Synchronize</code>
menu item.</p>

The link is working! With my vision problem I was not able to see
that it was automatically downloading the file. I was looking for
it to open the website.<br>
I'm legally blind and sometimes have trouble noticing little things
like that.<br>
It is currently repairing the database before opening the new

it.<br>

Just like iTunes, beaTunes can order the main table by different
attributes. It depends on which column is selected. To change the
sort order, click on the table column header. I.e. click on
<code>Artist</code> at the top of the artist column to sort by
artist. Which column is used for sorting, is indicated by a
slightly bolder font.</p>

<p>Yes. It's irrelevant for iTunes-based libraries. What that
function does, is to export playlists in a playlist format like
<code>m3u</code>. This format can be read by other third party
programs. The integration with iTunes is much tighter. Just try to
create some playlist in beaTunes and seconds later it will also
appear in iTunes.</p>
