<p>the database is built from user-submitted data. Looks like you
own some music that is popular in the East!</p>

My other question on this topic is this: I updated the "genre" mp3
tag in a different program (Media Monkey, my regular music player)
to "Funk". (With due respect, I don't think my Russian comrades got
it exactly right.) But then, I wasn't sure how to get beaTunes to
recognize the changed tag. I didn't want to manually update the
genre in beaTunes: that would be double work, and I also believe
doing so would update each track again (the actual file) and I
don't want that. (I know I'm only dealing with a few tracks. This
exercise is for my purpose of understanding how beaTunes
works.)<br>
In MediaMonkey, there is a Rescan Files option which, when invoked,
will rescan the music folders, update its own database, and display
the changed information for each track. I wasn't sure how to do
that in beaTunes other than setting a New (Directory-based) Library
away from and then back to the original Library, and then
reanalyzing. It seems like there should be a more direct way to do
that. Am I missing something?<br>
A final point, and it's kind of small. When you go to designate a
New Library (Directory-based), it always goes to a default folder
of c:/users//music . It might be nice if it would use the current
library location as the starting point. I'm not sure if this is a
good idea or not. I'm just mentioning it. Probably most people
don't set a New Library very often.<br>
Thanks!<br>
Richard</p>
