so I started to delete a couple when I realized that I was also
deleting them from my music library...

If those files were stored on a local drive, you should be able
to recover them from the Recycling Bin.

What can I do, I would like to keep those files on my
computer.

Don't delete them from beaTunes.

Does it mean also that If I wish to delete a song from my
playlist it will also get deleted on my music library?

In beaTunes there is a difference between a playlist
and the library (or the music folder). A playlist
is something you created with songs from your library. Deleting a
song from a playlist should never delete the song file itself.
Should that happen, please let me know! That would
definitely be a bug and unintended.

However, deleting a song from the library (or the music
folder), signals beaTunes that you want to remove the file from the
system. It is then deleted from beaTunes and from the file system,
possibly placed into the Recycling Bin.

I hope this explanation helps. Let me know, if you have further
questions.

Thanks,
