to build lists/groups of songs before analyzing? Like when you
analyze songs Beatunes cannot analyze DRM songs, and stops with a
message, it would be nice to have the ability to filter songs
before analyzing, i can kludge/workaround by sorting the column at
the top for protected, but it would be nice to have a more elegant
solution that fits in the program flow, almost like itunes smart
playlists. thank you!</p></div>michaeltag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/219329612012-12-04T09:10:48Z2012-12-04T09:10:48Zhow to edit key if beatunes detects wrong?<div><p>You can simply sort by "protected" (lock) and then only select
those songs that are not protected to analyze them.</p>
<p>However, it might also pay off to specifically select locked
songs and analyze them with "use online resources" turned on. While
beaTunes cannot get to the actual audio content of the files
(because of DRM), it can use existing metadata to attempt to look
up things like BPM.</p>
<p>Using online resources may not lead to best results for BPM with
unlocked songs.</p>
<p>Hope this helps,</p>

1) sorted the songs by the column with the lock<br>
2) put all the songs that had a lock in the column in a new
playlist called protected<br>
3) synced<br>
4) analyze protected list<br>
5) checked estimate bpm, replace existing bpm, use online
resources, determine color, replace existing color, use online
resources, analyze key, replace existing key, use online
resources<br>
6) unchecked everything else<br>
7) each file that gets analyzed has a pop up box that says this
"not authorized this application cannot be used to ...<br>
8) this requires me to click the box acknowledging the message for
each file, there are 506 protected files<br>
9) how to avoid clicking the box for each file?</p>
<p>thank you!</p></div>michaeltag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/219329612012-12-06T09:33:36Z2012-12-06T09:33:36Zhow to edit key if beatunes detects wrong?<div><p>Darn!</p>
<p>You're on Windows, right?</p>
<p>beaTunes uses the QuickTime library to decode audio on Windows.
Unfortunately, when that library encounters a DRM protected track
it pops up that message. To my knowledge there is no <em>good</em>
way around it.</p>
<p>You could however delete the "<em>glue</em>" between beaTunes
and QuickTime, thus preventing the usage of QuickTime altogether.
Note that this will prevent beaTunes from analyzing the audio of
<em>any</em> track. But perhaps, just to process through your
protected playlist, this just might be an option.</p>
<p>To achieve this, delete the file <code>C:\Program
Files\beaTunes3\lib\qtsampledsp-win-0.9.6.dll</code> or, depending
on your system, <code>C:\Program Files
(x86)\beaTunes3\lib\qtsampledsp-win-0.9.6.dll</code>.</p>
<p>Then run beaTunes. You might get message complaining about
beaTunes not being able to decode files.<br>
Once you're done with the analysis of protected songs, shut down,
then re-install beaTunes.</p>
<p>BTW: Which version of windows are you using?</p>
