Although BeaTunes HAD been able to detect songs newly added to iTunes, it has been unable to do so recently. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

OSX 10.7.3
BeaTunes 3.5.2
iTunes 10.5.3 (3)
Library size: 22,410 items, 139.21 GB

for some reason some index in your database seems to be corrupt.

    Please try the following:

    • stop beaTunes
    • backup your database folder /Users/davidbalmer/Library/Application Support/beaTunes/Database so that you can restore it, should it be necessary
    • download and place it in your plugin folder /Users/davidbalmer/Library/Application Support/beaTunes/Plug-Ins
    • start beaTunes (start may take a lot longer than usual)
    • once beaTunes started completely, shut it down again
    • remove the restoredatabase-1.0.0.jar file from your plugin folder
    • start beaTunes
    • sync

    Does this fix the problem?

Great! Thanks for letting me know.

Please don't forget to remove that plugin after use.
Also, the plugin created a bunch of ....bak files in your database folder. You can safely delete those to save disk space. You can also delete any ....sql files (even though they make a good backup).

This problem is happening again. I was just able to synchronize my newly added songs, but when I ask to analyze new songs BeaTunes says I haven't added any new songs. Do I do the same thing you suggested the last time?

    BeaTunes 3.5.5
    iTunes 10.6.3
    OSX 10.7.4

no, you should not repeat that procedure, as beaTunes 3.5.5 has a similar mechanism built in now.
But, what you should do, is start beaTunes and pause analysis should it be running. Then try to initiate the sync by switching to another application and then back. Then you should see the "syncing" message in the status bar. Now simply wait until it's synced.

    Does this help?
