I'd suggest either setting the fast-accurate slider to a center
position or - if that's where it was to begin with - go to the
preferences, analysis options, and lower the number of parallel
tasks.

In the first case, changes only take effect for songs newly
added to the task queue.
in the the second case, you need to restart beaTunes for the
setting to take effect.

Hope this helps,

-hendrik

PS: Out of curiosity... do you have either lots of songs or lots
of cpu cores?

hendriktag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/89722302011-07-30T15:07:25Z2011-07-30T15:07:25Zfatal error the java vm ran out of memory

i had about 80 tracks in the que. i have 4 cores, but paralel
tasks is at the default.

andrew grahamtag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/89722302011-07-30T15:12:48Z2011-07-30T15:12:48Zfatal error the java vm ran out of memory

The number of tracks in the queue don't matter - I was wondering
about the total number of songs in your library.

Anyhow, the default for parallel tasks is actually specific to
how many cores (actually: hyperthreading 'cores') your machine has.
I recommend lowering it by 1, as with 4 cores it most certainly
wasn't at 1, right?

hendriktag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/89722302011-07-30T15:16:00Z2011-07-30T15:16:01Zfatal error the java vm ran out of memory

i have 4 cores, and 4 threads.

it was set to use 3.

andrew grahamtag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/89722302011-07-30T15:16:40Z2011-07-30T15:16:42Zfatal error the java vm ran out of memory

and my itunes library has about 5.5k tracks.

andrew grahamtag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/89722302011-07-30T15:41:28Z2011-07-30T15:41:28Zfatal error the java vm ran out of memory

Well, simply restart then, make sure you don't set the accuracy
slider for the Rayshoot BPM detection to the max and things should
be good.

hendriktag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/89722302011-07-31T06:19:24Z2011-07-31T06:19:25Zfatal error the java vm ran out of memory

i keep restarting, heeding your advice, and ive set the

the Library folder is hidden) and how to send them.
