I just installed beaTunes and I'm getting this error message
(please see
attached screenshot). I have re-installed both Quicktime and iTunes
and
re-started the system. The error message still comes up when I try
to start
beaTunes.

Please advise. Thanks in advance!

Best wishes,

most likely you have an old
qtmlclient.dll
file
lying around somewhere.
Please search your windows installation directory (probably

c:\windows\
) and its subdirectories for a file called

qtmlclient.dll
and remove it should you find it.

Did this help?

thanks for your email. I searched my whole system and was able
to find only
one file with this name, located in C:\Program
Files\QuickTime\QTSystem (not
in my Windows System folder). This file shows a "last change" date
of
November 2010. Should I still delete it? Do I need to install
Quicktime
again after this?

Thanks again,

no, please don't delete that file. It's needed.

It should be in
c:\Windows\system32\
or the like,
highly depending on what kind of Windows you are using. Which one
is it btw?

Thanks,

nope, as I said the needed one is the only copy of that file on
my system (I
just double-checked). I'm running Windows XP SP 3.

Anything else I can do?

looks like the path to QuickTime is missing.
Please add
C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTSystem\
(or
wherever you installed QuickTime) to the PATH. <a href=

gives you some advice on just how to do that.

Does that solve the problem?
