<code> Hi,</code>
</pre>
<p>I like your beatTunes quite a lot. Matchlist creation works
really well.</p>
<p>But what I have found is, that the running task queue is
sensitive to<br>
doubleclick enabling changes to the displayed id3 tags.<br>
If I doubleclick accidently on a running waiting queue entry, I can
change<br>
song tags. Even worse, since the queue is changing, changeable
(with<br>
an input-enabled field) tag-values can hop from song to song
(partially<br>
messing up the tags), and get written as soon as I click on another
list<br>
entry (and disable the modifyable entry).<br>
What I would expect is, that the running task list is read-only.
No<br>
changes allowed in this list. It just displays whats running in the
background.</p>
<p>Okay, this is not the wishlist. What I would like to have are
the most<br>
important features of powertunes. These are fix dead tracks and<br>
find orphans in the itunes library. So I can use only one
complementary<br>
tool for itunes.</p>

Michael.</code>

<p>How are those powertunes features not covered by beaTunes'

I have beatunes since yesterday, so it is fairly new for me.<br>
In the properties->inspektion window I have found the<br>
"missing files" mentioned. This seems to be similar to the "fix
dead tracks in powertunes.</p>
<p>But I have not seen the "find orphans" of powertunes in<br>
beatunes. It searches the media folder for files, that are
missing<br>
in the itunes library.</p>

Part of it is covered by <a href=

though. Perhaps I should add that for beaTunes 3...</p>

try and see...</p>
<p>I have some ideas about improving bpm recognition accuracy.<br>
I read here that not all first time users are sufficient with the
bpm recognition.<br>
What I would think of could be an improvent based on using the
genre tag of a properly tagged itunes database as hinting for the
bpm algorithm to decide, which intervall for the bpm value is
appropriate.</p>
<p>I had also slight problems in the beginning. The default values
of rayshot algorith and automatic sounded good (actiually I didn't
understand a word what I should choose and the predefined values
sounded good ;-).</p>
<p>After I did rtfm, I found out that I <em>really</em> should
choose something better, and I picked, of course, the
recommendation of 70-140 bpms mentioned in the manual.</p>
<p>Therefere, I think of using hinting based on the music genre,
like Pop, Rock, Alternative, unlikely does more than 120, so a
couple of profiles, that are chosen, based on genre could be
helpful.</p>
<p>I am not sure, if this really works out well, but giving it a
try with a few dubios songs (like pop ballads with a dominant
conga, like the Sade Song, mentioned in another post) and a few
hardwired bpm-profiles based on the genre, at least could be worth
the try.</p>
