Key to grouping plug-in Beatunes 2.1.18
Thank you for your excellent software and i hope you can help me with the following -
I have downloaded the jar file for the key to grouping plug-in and placed it in:
User/Library/Application support/beaTunes/Plug-ins
I have then restarted itunes and beatunes but the information is not populating the Itunes grouping field
I look forward to your response.

Forgot to mention that I am on OSX 10.5.8 and Itunes 10.6.1

The plugin is an analysis plugin. That means that it creates a new analysis task option in the analysis options dialog. To use it, you have to select some songs, click analyze, select that new option (copy ...) and then run it.

I selected my entire library (apart from tracks with no found key) and then in the analysis options unchecked everything apart from copy key to grouping.
The following message is reported:
java.lang.IncompatibleClassChangeError.Found interface com.tagraum.beatunes.Library.ItunesMusicLibrary, but class was expected
Please advise me

Hi,
I'm not sure which version of the plugin you have installed - but the error message indicates that it is not compatible with your beaTunes version.
I believe http://blog.beatunes.com/2010/02/beatunes-214-requires-update-for.html should be the correct version for 2.1.18. Please install it and remove all other versions of the plugin from the plugins folder.

Not sure yet as the beatunes screen hangs on start up - screen shot attached
(Btw thanks for getting back to me and sorry for delay I am working on

Was a version of the plugin installed, when you started beaTunes?
I should have mentioned that switching plugins should only be done, when the task queue is empty, as otherwise the queue might be referencing something that is not there anymore (which is a bad thing and can lead to the stuff you are seeing).

Can you empty the queue - perhaps through the Tool menu?
If not, re-install the version you had before, then empty the queue, shut down beaTunes and then install the new version.

That won't help as it does not delete the database that is causing the problem.

Actually the 2.1.20 seemed to be fine so I closed it, inserted the key to
comment plug-in, selected some tracks to analyse then it crashed (took
microsoft office with it) and will not open again - I am not sure what to
do next.
I would be grateful for some more help

http://help.beatunes.com/kb/troubleshooting/where-are-the-beatunes-... tells you where to find them and how to send them.
BTW: beaTunes really shouldn't be able to take down office - that surprises me.

Believe it or not my mac was acting up a bit as I mentioned. I restarted
and the dreaded question mark folder with a question mark was on my screen.
The apple store are probably going to replace the hard drive (unless it is
the cable to it).
Anyway that is why I could not send you the logs.
Perhaps I should do a clean install with Beatunes 3 when I get it back.
Thanks so much again for your support and I will be in touch when mac is
back, if that is ok.
